Prohibited Approach Bromo up to 3 km

Less than 24 hours after upgraded to standby status, Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation improve the status of Mount Bromo back to 'watch out ' status. " Based on seismic data and visual observations and data analysis, the status of Mount Bromo is raised to alert level since 23 th Novermber 2010 at 16.30 pm,'' according to an announcement on the site of Geological. Related to change the status of Mount Bromo into this caution, railing around Mount Bromo is expected to remain calm and not provoked the issues concerning the eruption of Mount Bromo.
Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation is always coordinated with the Provincial Government fo East Java and the Government of Probolinggo on the activities of Mount Bromo. To reduce the risk of catastrophic eruption of Mount Bromo, society and the end of both tourists and climber or hiker are not allowed to approach within a radius of 3 kilometers from the active crater. Sand sea of the caldera area within a radius of 2.5 km from the active crater must be sterile and closed from community activities and tourism.
Local governmets are constantly coordinating with the observation post in village of Mount Bromo Ngadisari, Cemoro lawang, sub Sukapura, Probolinggo district, or with the Center for Volcanology and Geological Hazard Mitigation in Bandung.
