Tengger Tribe residing in the vicinity of national park is a tribal Hindu. According to legend, the origin of these tribes from the Kingdom of Majapahit into exile. Uniquely see the people around look no sense of  fear despite knowing it is dangerous Bromo., including many tourists who visit the Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park at the ceremony of Kasodo.
Kasodo ceremony held every year (December /  January) on the full moon. Through this ceremony, the community begged Tengger Tribe abundant harvest or decline  the request for reinforcements and cure various deseases, in particular by offerings with tossed into the crater of  Mount Bromo, Tengger society while others had to descend the cliff of the crater and reached to catch the offerings being thrown into the crates, as a symbol of blessing  from the Almighty.
